A home in Hampshire has been partially destroyed after it was hit by lightning, the fireplace service has mentioned.

The roof of the two-storey property in Andover was blown in after it was struck in a thunderstorm, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Hearth and Rescue Service (HIOWFRS) mentioned.

Smoke was pictured coming from the semi-detached house in Mercia Avenue, with firefighters urging individuals to keep away from the realm. It’s not clear if anybody was injured within the incident.

Yellow thunderstorm warnings are in place for the whole south coast till midnight on Sunday.

It comes after every week of excessive warmth for a lot of England and Wales, with temperatures exceeding 30C (86F).

Forecasters say the heatwave might be changed by heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind over the weekend.
