A man has admitted assaulting Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale during a match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this year.

Ramsdale, 24, was kicked in the back shortly after Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 in a Premier League match on 15 January.

On Friday, Joseph Watts appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court to plead guilty to a charge of assault by beating.

The 35-year-old, from Dalston in Hackney, east London, also admitted going on to an area adjacent to the playing area, and throwing a missile on to a football playing area.

He also threw four coins towards the pitch, the court was told.
