Iran’s ambassador has been summoned to the International Workplace following a drone assault on an oil tanker during which two crew, together with a British nationwide, had been killed.
The ambassador was summoned this morning for a gathering with minister James Cleverly.
“Minister Cleverly reiterated that Iran should instantly stop actions that danger worldwide peace and safety, and bolstered that vessels should be allowed to navigate freely in accordance with worldwide regulation,” a spokesperson stated.
The UK and US have blamed Iran for the assault on the Israeli-linked oil tanker.
The assault occurred final Thursday when the MV Mercer Road was off Oman’s Coast within the Arabian Sea.
International Secretary Dominic Raab accused Iran of finishing up a “deliberate, focused” assault which constituted “a transparent violation of worldwide regulation”.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated he was contemplating “subsequent steps” with the UK and different allies, with “an applicable response… forthcoming”.
